Michaels  is a documentary filmmaker who's films include AKICITA: THE BATTLE OF STANDING ROCK – Sundance 2018,  THE MARS GENERATION – Opening Night Sundance 2017 (Netflix Originals) (Emmy Nominated),  HOLY HELL – Sundance 2016 (CNN Films),  BECOMING BULLETPROOF – American Film Showcase  2014 (Showtime),  FAME HIGH – TriBeCa Film Festival 2012 (Showtime),  SUPERHEROES – Slamdance 2011 (HBO Documentaries)

He edits music videos as well and also enjoys directing short form documentaries. 

In addition, he offers consulting services.  In a nutshell, I watch your documentary at home and I nit pick the hell out of it with a ton of constructive criticisms.  I meet with you and watch the film. We go over those notes and create an actionable plan for you and your editor.  We can do this at almost any stage of the edit from very rough assembly to a fine cut.

Finally, He has been a documentary programmer at the Slamdance Film Festival since 2013.
