Alexis Van Hurkman is a writer, director, and colorist. "Carry My Heart to the Yellow River" is his third film to appear in festivals. Alexis' award-winning science-fiction short “The Place Where You Live” played 18 festivals in 2015, and his gritty desert survival feature “Four Weeks, Four Hours” screened at festivals around the world in 2006. Alexis is best known through his work as a colorist for cinema and broadcast, and wrote the industry-acclaimed “Color Correction Handbook,” which has taught color grading to a new generation of post professionals. He's currently wrapping post-production on his next short, “Checksum,” and in development on a scripted episodic comedy.
